"protection, for gangs, clubs and nations. causing grief in human relations. it's a turf war, on a global scale. i'd rather hear both sides of the tale. see, its not about races, just places, faces. where your blood comes from is where your space is. i've seen the bright get duller, i'm not going to spend my life being a color." - l.t.b. (in michael jackson's black or white) (now those are some rap lines that still ring true...)

. willin' to get in the driver's seat and willin' to turn. and not concerned about that he say, she say, did he say what i think he said? squash that, he probably got that off ebay or some, internet access, some website chat line. mad cause i got mine, oh don't wind up on the flat line..." - nelly (who doesn't love rapping this line? to help entertain you (and because i missed you all!) it's been too long...

if you missed the introduction to "SPIT THAT GAME", let me fill you in...

because i love hip-hop and because i'm "down" (i mean really, who doesn't need a tip drill?) (not too mention i have the ass to prove it, lol, that is a topic for another post...), i feel that it is my duty to share with you a random sampling of a few of my all time favorite lines. now some of these lines have specific memories associated with them, some are just so true it is pure genius, and some just crack my shit up!!!

the story for this volume - more proof that "i'm down" :

once again it was undergrad. i had recently accepted a bid and joined an amazing sorority. i was new to the Greek world and i didn't know all of my sister that well yet. one weekend we spent saturday evening hanging out, acting goofy, and getting ready for a party thrown by one of our favorite fraternities. once we got to the party we made our way to the dance floor in the basement and we were having a blast and dancing up a storm (have i mentioned i love dancing?). anywhoo, the Luda song "fatty girl" came on and i proceeded to not only shake what my momma gave me, but rap. every. single. line.

needless to say, my sisters were a bit surprised. i got a lot of comments like... "we thought you were kinda NERDY?" "how do YOU know the words to that song?" "you seem like such a GOOD GIRL?" "did that just happen?" "but, but, aren't you really SMART?".... HAHAHAHA! oh, what they had yet to discover... heehee.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and now i bring you... VOLUME 2!!!
"QUIET!!! shh, hush yo mouth. silence when i, spit it out. in yo face. open yo mouth, give you a taste. (Holla) ain't no stoppin me, copywritten so, don't copy me. y'all do it, sloppily. and y'all cant come, close to me." - missy elliot (i remember rapping these lines will working orientation during undergrad... good memories.)
"
are you custom-made, custom-paid, or you just custom-fitted?" - ludacris (this is a question i ask frequently, lol!)
"i'm the MBP, Most Ballenous Player.
make my own rules, bitch call me the mayor." - jermaine dupri (you can call me the mayor anytime...)
'one said "ain't you that boy that be on BET?"
"ya that's me, ching-a-ling equipped wit much ding-a-ling"' - chingy (seriously chingy, ding-a-ling? lol.)
'i'm Kan the Louis Vuitton Don. bought my mom a purse now she Louis Vuitton Mom. still might throw on a little low arm they want me to stop, go on go on. they don't want me to shop and me spending that hard. "oh my gawd, is that a black card?" i turned around and replied "why yes, but i prefer the term African-American Express"' - kanye west (i love rapping these lines...)
"i know this world is so cold & deceiving,
but i keep my head up like my nose is bleeding" - lil wayne (that's deep...)
"oh yeah, i represent the Dirty Southside.
i'm a dentist makin' women open they mouth wide" - ludacris (Luda is just so damn clever!)
hope you enjoyed!
spit that game, v.1...
Friday, March 13, 2009
i am starting a new tradition here at ...call me captain backfire entitled-
"SPIT THAT GAME"
excited?!?! of course you are... so am i!
here is the deal - yes i am an extremely white girl from the northern midwest, but no that does not stop me from being the most "down" white girl you know.
alright, i may be exaggerating just a bit, but hey... the most "down" white girl that i know, hated (who can c-walk better than ANYONE, just for the record), once told me i was "down" and it is probably one of the best compliments that i have ever received. this is how the conversation went:
(sometime in the year 2000, hated and i were sitting in an art history class in undergrad...)
hated: "
andele andele mami, E.I. E.I. uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! what's poppin' tonight?"
(she randomly busts out a rap quite frequently, this is not unusual for her...)
ME: "andele andele mami, E.I. E.I. uh-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! if the head right, Nelly there ery'night
"
hated: (turns and stares at me dumbfounded) "i never knew..."
ME: "you never knew what?"
hated: "you're down."
ME: (un-phased) "most people don't."
anyway, back to my point... because i love hip-hop and because i'm "down" (i mean really, who doesn't need a tip drill?) (not too mention i have the ass to prove it, lol, that is a topic for another post...), i feel that it is my duty to share with you a random sampling of a few of my all time favorite lines. now some of these lines have specific memories associated with them, some are just so true it is pure genius, and some just crack my shit up!!!
from time to time i will post the next edition of "SPIT THAT GAME," but for my inaugural post let me share with you these lyrical gems...
"love a combination big ass and tight jeans" - ludacris (this defines me... lol! oh and be warned... there will be a lot of my man, luda, he's a lyrical genius)
"check it, i grew up a fuckin' screw up.
got introduced to the game,
got a ounce and fuckin' blew up" - notorious B.I.G. (classic biggie...)
"put up your peace sign, put your index down." - gym class heroes (i loved seeing the entire crowd throw it up at the gch concert...)
"took your momma 9 months to make ya...
might as well shake what your momma gave ya." - ludacris (rules to live by, and hey, i warned you!...)
"spoil me mama, back rub oil me mama...
when i'm left over, aluminum foil me mama." - murphy lee
(one of the most hilarious rap lyrics EVER, not too mention murphy lee is outstanding in concert...)
"wee ooh wee ooh wee (wee),
wee ooh wee ooh wee (wee),
wee ooh wee ooh wee,
(like a cop car)" - lil' wayne (he makes the chorus sound just like the siren of a cop car... hahaahahahaaahaahaaaha!...)
now tell me that didn't put a smile on your face? oh, and feel free to share some of your faves to hold you over until the next edition of...
"SPIT THAT GAME!!!"
